For A Coaching Position

I am reaching out to you about your open coaching position for the 2021 fall season. Throughout my portfolio, you are able to see my resume and other qualifications as a coach.  I am extremely passionate about volleyball, whether it includes coaching, scouting, or helping players fall in love with the game. My hope is to guide them to work at the highest level in order to maximize personal and team success and have an incredible experience on the court, in the classroom, and in the community.

I am a Michigan State volleyball alumnus who is looking to further my career as a coach. At a young age, I fell in love with this sport and the lessons that it teaches all who play it. This past fall season, I was able to be a part of the Michigan State staff as the student assistant coach. This opportunity showed me what my true calling is, coaching at the collegiate level. I believe that my experience and perspective have all prepared me to enter the coaching field. I have played four years in the grueling Big Ten conference, spent one season as the Michigan State Volleyball graduate assistant, and have coached with our MSU Men’s club team and local youth programs. I am excited about the opportunity to grow my coaching identity and further my volleyball knowledge. My strengths include my knowledge of the game, particularly defense and serve/serve receive, while also having a strong background in team culture and leadership through my experiences with Spartan Volleyball. I have experienced both being a starting libero as well as being a serving specialist, and I know how important it is for players to buy in and be selfless. All of these perspectives have given me the chance to see the game in different lights. My experiences have made me a stronger person through all walks of my life and future career path. It would be a privilege to assist in the growth of your program and develop my coaching skills.

I am a motivated, knowledgeable, and passionate young coach looking to bring my experience to a program while furthering my volleyball knowledge. Teaching players to have a love for this game is something that is so important to me, but the most important thing is teaching them how to become amazing women on and off of the court.  Thank you for your consideration I look forward to speaking to you soon.

Regards,

Abby Monson
